Starter Kits contain:
- Three 22 cm long pieces of Ribbond in assorted sizes (2, 3, and 4 mm are the standard widths, or you can customize the widths to suit your needs).
- Ribbond ULTRA and Ribbond-THM Ortho (1 mm) for fixed retainers and 7 mm Ribbond-THM are also available.
- The special Ribbond scissors (most scissors will not cut Ribbond). Easy to understand instructions.
- Dead soft tinfoil for pre-measuring in the mouth.
Description:
- Fibre reinforcement ribbons that prevent fracture failures in dental composites and acrylics. Strong prostheses that are durable and maintain their strength with continued use. Ultra-high-strength fibres, enhanced bonding, and innovative cross-link lock-stitch leno weave for fracture resistance.
- The thinnest of all Ribbond fiber reinforcement ribbons, (0.12 mm thick), has the highest flexural modulus and has a greater peak load than the Ribbond THM and and is more adaptable. It lays flatter against the teeth which creates a thinner bond line to the teeth. It is available in widths of 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 1mm (for fixed orthodontic retainers). Ribbond is made from the same ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers used to make bulletproof vests.
- These fibers far exceed the breaking point of fiberglass and are so tough that specially made scissors are required to cut them. Unlike Kevlar, Ribbond's fibers absorb less moisture than the dental resins.
- Ribbond has an indefinite shelf life. This minimizes waste, which is great for dentists who only occasionally use Ribbond.
