It absorbs quickly into the skin and is suitable for use under gloves. Healthcare workers are required to wash or sanitise their hands regularly, and sanitisers and soaps without emollients can be very drying on the skin. Dry, cracked skin can create the risk of infection and increase the risk of transmission to others.
