Traxodent lends itself to any technique. Some dentists will prefer to use Traxodent alone, others with a single retraction cord. Some will gently guide it into the sulcus using a retraction cap or cotton pellet for greater tissue retraction. After trying Traxodent, dentists adapt it to their own preferred technique and use it routinely to ensure a dry, clear field. Traxodent is ideal whenever haemostasis or isolation is needed; for crown and bridge, veneers, and for restorations below the gingiva.

Caries is among the most frequently occurring diseases and affects almost everyone. At the early stage, i. e. when the enamel becomes porous but is not yet fully destroyed, caries can be arrested by means of prophylactic measures such as fluoride therapy. If the caries progresses to the point of cavitation, however, the dentist has to use the drill to restore the tooth with a filling. Especially for caries in interproximal spaces as it occurs predominantly in adolescents and in early adulthood a relatively large amount of healthy tooth structure must be sacrificed in order to remove the actual decay. By means of a new virtually painless method – the caries infiltration –proximal caries can now be treated in a timely manner without the need of drilling. A corresponding product (Icon) was introduced in Germany this year. It involves the application of a composite onto the caries subsequent to the preparation of the surface. The composite penetrates into the porous enamel where it is cured and thus seals the caries. If done correctly this novel treatment method will prolong the need for a first restorative treatment considerably or even prevent it for a long time. In that regard this therapy bridges the gap between prevention and restoration. Furthermore, this treatment approach improves the visual appearance of the caries which is why this method can also be applied to the esthetically relevant anterior area.

Gunz Dental is excited to announce the launch in Australia and New Zealand of Ultradent’s latest Opalescence innovation - Opalescence Trèswhite™ Ortho, the first pre-filled, adaptable, disposable whitening system specifically designed for use with orthodontic brackets.
Opalescence Trèswhite Ortho consists of an Opalescence PF gel solution within a unique double-tray design. The external tray quickly aligns and positions the soft, thin internal bleaching tray.
The internal tray comfortably adapts to any bracketed arch. The tray is loaded with an 8% hydrogen peroxide solution which travels through the enamel to whiten behind brackets. The solution actively whitens teeth for up to 60 minutes. The trays contain the optimal amount of mint flavoured gel for easy placement and clean-up. The pre-loaded trays offer ultimate convenience and are particularly cost-effective for teenagers and young adults, with no need for impressions and lab time.
Opalescence Trèswhite Ortho is recommended both during and after orthodontic treatment to achieve a more aesthetic outcome. Since Opalescence Trèswhite Ortho also aids in preventing the formation of plaque, treatment is also recommended for improved oral hygiene.

Enamel Pro ® Varnish from Premier is now available in Australia and New Zealand through Gunz Dental. Enamel Pro Varnish is the only fluoride varnish formulated to deliver ACP (Amorphous Calcium Phosphate).
ACP is known to stimulate remineralisation and strengthen tooth structure.
Enamel Pro Varnish desensitises by depositing ACP and fluoride into open dentin tubules. The varnish contains the same amount of sodium fluoride as other varnishes, yet ACP technology actually delivers up to four times more fluoride uptake into the enamel and provides significantly more available fluoride to all tooth surfaces. 1 Patient acceptance is high, due to the aesthetic white appearance and pleasant flavours. According to an American Dental Association report, fluoride varnish is the preferred method of topical fluoride application to achieve greater patient acceptability.
The easy-to-apply varnish is available in boxes of 35 or 200 single-unit dose with application stick, one Comfy-grip cup holder, doctor's instructions and a pad of post-treatment patient instructions. Enamel Pro Varnish is available in 0.25mL and 0.40mL sized dose and great tasting flavours of bubblegum and strawberries ‘n cream.

The ergonomic device was designed for intuitive operation. Temperature and flow rate of the guttapercha material as well as temperature of the Plugger can be individually adjusted simply and fast, i.e. with short response time. Micromotor-controlled extrusion prevents dripping of guttapercha. Slim handpieces and specially long, flexible cannulas permit a clear view of the root canal orifice. The complete exchange of used-up cartridges makes the handling clean and fast. Each cartridge contains guttapercha for filling 4 - 6 root canals. For the downpack handpiece, an assortment of Pluggers (as well as a Pulp Tester) are included.

An integrated apex locator makes simultaneous preparation and length determination possible; length determination is accurate in both humid and dry canal conditions. Individual settings for all major file systems are pre-programmed and can also be changed and saved, allowing the utmost flexibility.
The needs of the dentist - that is practical functions and simple operation - were the focus when developing this device. Safety features such as torque control, acoustic signals and automatic stop/reverse, etc., are included. An additional programme for canals with difficult anatomy offers increased protection against instrument separation.
Battery operation makes the device practical and independent of mains supply, and the device can even be used while the battery is charging.

X-ray systems use a CCD imager to capture the X-ray data, the DENT-X system, utilizes “Active Column Sensor CMOS technology. This technology reduces the complexity of the sensor while offering the following advantages over traditional CCD technology:
Lower Power Requirements - CMOS technology requires less power for operation, thus allowing operation from the host computer's USB port. Bulky docking stations requiring separate power supplies are eliminated.
More Compact - Lower power requirements means the system is more portable. The entire EVA system is approximately the size of a large computer mouse and can easily be put into a suit pocket or purse.
Larger Image Size and Quality Resolution - The EVA sensor provides one of the largest images available with a resolution of 16 line pairs/mm and an image size of 2.1 M
