Tuttnauer range of sterilisers

Gunz Dental , an importer and distributor of Tuttnauer products in Australia and New Zealand , presents the range of Tuttnauer table-top sterilisers.

The company

For over 80 years, Tuttnauer ( www.tuttnauer.com ) has been recognised as a leading manufacturer of sterilisation and infection control products. Since the company's foundation in 1925, Tuttnauer's engineers have been working on large-scale joint projects with leading research institutes and universities. This cooperation enables the company to remain at the leading edge of the industry, developing and integrating the most advanced methods and technologies.

Areas of application

Tuttnauer provides sterilisation solutions to various markets and offers a wide range of sterilisation products which vary in size and application. This product range includes:

•  An extensive variety of table top autoclaves for dental clinics or, as a second unit, for small to medium medical centres and hospitals.

•  A range of laboratory autoclaves for different scientific applications

•  A variety of hospital sterilisers with a chamber size of up to 1,000 litres

•  Bio hazard autoclaves for sterilisation of hospital or other biological waste materials

Tuttnauer table top autoclaves

Tuttnauer offers 2 classes of table top sterilisers ? class S and class B. Class B autoclaves meet the strictest standards for sterilisation of equipment, while class S is also widely in use primarily in dentistry and small medical practices. The main distinguishing feature of a Class B autoclave is that it has pre and post vacuum cycles during the sterilisation procedure. The pre vacuum cycle is used to remove the remains of the air from hollow instruments. Usually 3-4 pre vacuum cycles are performed to remove more than 99.99% of the air from cannulas. This procedure ensures a quality heat delivery into cannulas during the sterilisation cycle. In addition, class B autoclaves use vacuum for drying that is quicker and more efficient than drying by heated air delivered to the chamber.

Within the same class there are differences in the size of the chamber. For class S sterilisers there are 3 sizes available ? 19, 23 and 85 litres. For class B there are only 2 different options ? 23 and 85 litres.

All Tuttnauer table top sterilisers feature built-in printer (fig.1) to print the log of each cycle, PC RS232 connection port (fig.2) enabling direct software updates and remote maintenance, Stainless steel trays (fig.3) and independent pressure gauge (fig.4).

Nova autoclave (fig.5) has independent steam generator (fig.6) to speed up cycles.

There are a number of alert messages and alarms

  1. Insufficient water detector and alert with an automatic shutoff

  2. gStop fillh water alert

  3. gEmpty reservoirh alert when waste water tank is full

  4. Cycle information recovery in case of power failure or a cycle interruption

  5. Door alert indicates the door is not locked properly

Tuttnauer 5075HS series

The 5075HS is a new fully featured stand alone, 160 liter Tuttnauer autoclave. It represents a unique synergy of size and simplicity. Tuttnauer expertise with large, industrial sterilisation technology has been packaged into the 5075HS, a floor standing, pre and post vacuum class B sterilizer.

Although it has a large volume, it is as simple and easy to use as a tabletop autoclave. The 5075HS is ideal for most applications. It is commonly used for fast cycles in the operating theatre, outpatient clinics, plastic surgeries and other regional and mid size healthcare facilities.

The 5075HS series is available in two models: the 5075HSG model is built with a powerful 18Kw stainless steel, electric steam generator for faster sterilization cycles. The 5075HS model comes with a direct connection to a hospital steam supply. The 5075HS chamber is surrounded by a coiled jacket that increases overall cycle speed and performance by maintaining the chamber warmed in stand by. The coiled jacket also ensures an even heat distribution in the chamber. The 5075HS provides all the features and reliability of a hospital grade sterilizer at a high performance and a considerably low cost.

The core features of 5075 series include:

•  Load capacity of 160 liters at minimal foot print

•  High volume water ring vacuum pump for fast and efficient air removal

•  Connection to external draining, mineral free and tap water supply for automatic filling and draining of water

•  Stand by heating mode keeps the autoclave warm and ready to use

•  316L grade stainless steel chamber and door with electro polish finish

•  Double locking safety device prevents door from opening at high pressure and high temperature

•  Control lock out switch prevents starting a cycle if door is not properly locked

•  Built in alpha numeric printer

•  Portable wheels for optional mobility and sterilization on demand

Tuttnauer Large Hospital sterilisers

Tuttnauer strives to ensure that their machines are state of the art: the components used in Tuttnauer autoclaves are of highest quality, and Tuttnauer hospital sterilisers comply with the strictest international standards. They build to last longer and perform consistently.

The fully jacketed chamber is constructed of long lasting 326L grade stainless steel with superior corrosion resistance. In addition, the generator and all piping are built of stainless steel. The pneumatic valves are air pressure operated, significantly reducing maintenance costs. Pneumatic valves are safer and more reliable, eliminating the need for high voltage. If buttons or switches are untouched for four hours, the autoclave will automatically switch to standby mode.

An automated process control utilises the Tuttnauer advanced microprocessor control system. User friendly control panel consists of 4 lines and 20 columns LCD and a functional touchpad. The control system is pre programmed with a total of 12 cycles, with sterilisation temperatures ranging from 105 ºC to 138 ºC:

•  3 programs for an unwrapped load

•  4 programs for wrapped instruments and packs

•  3 slow pressure exhaust cycles

•  2 test programs (Bowie & Dick and vacuum test)

If there is a need, the number of pre programmed cycles can be increased.

Safety is a Tuttnauer top priority. The autoclave doors are designed with a number of independent mechanical and digital safety features:

•  A safety device prevents an operator from opening the door when the chamber is under pressure

•  Steam is not allowed into the chamber as long as the door is open

•  A cycle can not start until the door is locked properly

•  The door will not unlock until chamber pressure reaches atmospheric one

•  Sliding door safety ? a sliding door progress is stopped automatically in case of any obstruction

•  Double door safety ? interlocks prevent both doors from opening simultaneously

Tuttnauer offers a second to none range of models available in three series ? Compact, Mid range and Large capacity. Each model is available with either a single or a double door. In addition, loading equipment is available, such as carts and carriages (Fig.10).
